EVERYTHING IS ARISING AND PASSING AWAY

KELELOKO’s art aims at expressing the impermanence of life. KELELOKO perceives the world in a constant state of flux, changing moment by moment. At a subtle level there is no solidity. Solidity is an illusion. Everything is made out of energy and vibrations. As all matter is merely energy, resonating at a frequency that allows our frequency to interact with it and perceive through our senses.

Everything – all matter – is energy in a process of change and transformation.

KELELOKO is revealing the state of change. Therefore the work is the process. The outcome is an act of creation at a point of time and space. But there is no final destination. The art captures the fragility of a moment. The ultimate aim is to share the experience of awareness, the ability to perceive, to feel to be conscious of this moment, and to be focused on an internal state or an external event - a continuous shift.

Everything – our inner self – is about presence and connection.

KELELOKO’s artwork working method is a mind psychic process. It involves our consciousness and perception at one end, and our sensation and reaction at the other end, in a continuous process. From a raw data which our field of perception filters and categories, it leads to an expression of our sensations and reactions.

Rather than the outcome as a standalone result, there is a quest to celebrate this journey with no limits. By defining and observing its process, by decomposing the tools and techniques used, the whole process becomes visible and unveiled, expandable, experimental and intuitive.

Various methods as digital image processing, AI -aided design, VR and AR, screen printing, sound editing are used.

Everything – our creation – is about the process.

The ultimate goal is humble and universal: to remind human beings what and who they are, where they come from, and where they go – our primary roots.

There is a deeper reality and a wider map.

The life of every man is a way to himself, an attempt at a way, the suggestion of a path. No man has ever been utterly himself, yet every man strives to be so, the dull, the intelligent, each one as best he can. Each man to the end of his days carries round with him vestiges of his birth-the slime and egg-shells of the primeval world. There are many who never become human; they remain frogs, lizards, ants. Many men are human beings above and fish below. Yet each one represents an attempt on the part of nature to create a human being. We enjoy a common origin in our mothers; we all come from the same pit. But each individual, who is himself an experimental throw from the depths, strives towards his own goal. We can understand each other, but each person is able to interpret himself to himself alone.’

Elke Sterling-Presser was born in 1976. She grew up in Germany close to Heidelberg.

She received a Postgraduate Master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Design from SAC-Städelschule Architecture Class at the Städelschule Staatliche Hochschule für Bildene Künste, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, under the tutorship of Prof.Ben Van Berkel, Prof. Johan Bettum and Prof. Mark Wigley. She completed her Diploma in Architecture in Heidelberg, Germany in 2001. Elke, co-founded in 2018, STERLING PRESSER, an international studio for architecture, planning, engineering concepts and design with the French Engineer-Architect Nicolas Sterling, in Berlin. Before she lived for about 10 years in London, United Kingdom and has been working at Zaha Hadid Architects.

Elke Presser has been teaching at Greenwich University in London from 2013 to 2016 as a Design Unit lecturer. Since 2017 she is teaching at the University of arts (UdK) in Berlin. She was invited for guest critics at various architectural and art schools including the AA Architectural Association, UCL Bartlett, Metropolitan University, London, Städelschule, Frankfurt, University of arts (Udk) in Berlin and the University of Applied Science, Heidelberg. Elke co founded in 2011 “KELELOKO” an independent art and research platform, based in London, United Kingdom. A transdisciplinary seeking method is important to consider all aspects of the human mind. But even more essential is a non-disciplinary seeking method because each person is able to interpret himself to himself alone.

LOKO

Nicolas Sterling was born in 1976. He grew up in France close to Fontainebleau.

He is a qualified and chartered Structural Engineer and Architect. He is graduated from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers in Paris and the School of Architecture Paris La Villette. Nicolas, co-founded in 2018, STERLING PRESSER, an international studio for architecture, planning, engineering concepts and design with the German Architect Elke Sterling-Presser, in Berlin.

Before he lived for about 10 years in London and worked as Associate Director at AKTII Adams Kara Taylor. He joined ARUP Advanced Geometry Unit in 2005, a specialist team within ARUP led by Cecil Balmond, and has been part of ARUP Building Engineering Group, in London up to 2011. His design-led’ approach and interest in innovative form, and complex structures have allowed him to work on cutting edge projects with leading architectural practices and renowned designers as Zaha Hadid, Shigeru Ban, Ron Arad or Anish Kapoor, and involved in a wide range of programmes such as sculptures, canopies, buildings and footbridges as an integrated design. Nicolas is passionate about emerging technologies and creativity in design process, believing in the crossover between architecture, design and engineering, driven by experimentation and cross fertilisation between disciplines. Prior to 2005, Nicolas worked with Hugh Dutton at HDA in Paris on lightweight structures, long span footbridges and facades, developing technical and detailing concepts as a key point in the architectural process.

Nicolas’s career extends beyond the structural engineering and architecture disciplines and co founded in 2011 “k e l e l o k o” an independent art and research platform, based in London, United Kingdom.
